12/30/2003- No signal has been received from this female in over a month. She was last recorded on Isla de la Juventud, on Cuba's southwestern shore, where she remained for several weeks. She may have pushed on further south. If she is still alive, her feathers may be covering the solar panel on her transmitter, or she may be spending most of her time beneath forest canopy, where the transmitter will not operate. We will continue to watch for her signal.
