Situated on Cumberland Mountain in Lee County in extreme southwest Virginia, White Rocks is considered by many to be the premier site within the state in its potential to support breeding peregrine falcons. The site is largely situated within Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, which extends over the state border into Kentucky and Tennessee. An immature falcon was documented at the site in 2008, and a territorial adult pair was confirmed in 2010. Although no breeding activity was observed, the pair is presumed to have attempted to breed. More details are available in the report below.
