Site CSC01: Oak Grove Lake Park
Although this is the City of Chesapeake's newest park, many species of birds and mammals have already been recorded there. Oak Grove Lake makes up about half of the park's 130 acres. Most of the park's remainder is composed of forest that includes dense growth pines, maples, and tulip poplars. The sizable lake and mixed woodland provides an attractive habitat for dragonflies, butterflies, and songbirds.
From I-64 East, follow I-64 East to Exit #290B for Battlefield Boulevard South. Take Battlefield Boulevard South for 0.4 miles to Volvo Parkway, turn right, and drive 0.5 miles to Byron Street. Turn right and travel 0.1 miles. The park entrance is on the left.
