Site CPL13: Chickahominy Riverfront Park
Description
This park is owned by James City County and it possesses amazing habitat along the Chickahominy River and Gordon's Creek. Canoe and kayak rentals make this habitat among the most accessible of any on the trail! The area has a wide variety of areas to view some tidal streams and rivers. During low tide, mudflats may reveal a variety of marsh birds.
Directions
From Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area, return to SR 5 on Rt. 623 and turn left (east). Follow SR 5 for approximately 4.0 miles. The Park is on your left immediately after you cross the Chickahominy River. Fee to access area. ($1 Resident, $2 Non-Resident) To return to I-64 return to SR 5 and turn left (east). Continue for 9 miles to SR 199. Follow SR 199 north and west to return to Richmond via I-64 West or south and east to continue onto the Lower Peninsula Loop via I-64 East.
