Site CNN02: Wayside Park
This small park, with its mowed field and picnic tables, offers a spectacular view of the expansive Potomac River. From the park's sandy beach, visitors can expect to see osprey, terns, wintering waterfowl, and wading birds feeding in the rich river habitat. Other park wildlife includes songbirds and butterflies.
From Caledon State Park, return to SR 206 and turn left. Travel 2.8 miles and turn left on US 301 North. Continue 3 miles to park entrance on the left, which is the last turn before crossing the bridge into Maryland, just after the Welcome Center.
