Disclosure Statement

Submitting Comments Online
During the Proposed Regulations Public Comment Period,
April 8 - May 14, 2008

The easiest way to submit comments regarding regulatory matters is probably online. This is where to do that.

In this regulatory process you are able to not just submit your comments on proposed regulations, but you may also read the comments submitted online by others. And, in turn, the comments you submit through this system will be readable by others, although with only the first initial of your first name and your locality (city, town, or county) and state displayed along with the submission. The rest of your name beyond your first initial, or other information about you beyond your locality and state, will not be displayed with your comments on this site.

Before submitting comments, though, you need to be aware that you will be participating in a public policy-making process, what is submitted here is part of a public record, and therefore it is the property of the citizens of Virginia. All of the information submitted here is public information and subject to being disclosed to others. Your personal information other than first initial, locality, and state, will simply not be displayed on this Web site.

Before you can submit comments online we require accurate information identifying you: your name, address, telephone number, and an email address from those who have one.

You may submit comments only under your own name. DGIF reserves the right to verify that comments submitted are by the person whose name is given, and will remove any found to be submitted under false pretenses. Do not fraudulently attempt to influence Virginia public policy by participating in this regulatory review process using anything other than fully accurate information about you.

Again, remember that your comments submitted here will be displayed online on this Web site. The first initial of your first name, your locality (not your address), and your state, but no other personal information about you, will be displayed online with your comments.

Your comments on regulatory matters that you write here will be seen by other members of the public, by DGIF staff, and by the members of the Board of Game and Inland Fisheries. Your comments will be taken into consideration as DGIF staff prepares its final-stage recommendations to present to the Board at its final-action meeting.

If you wish to submit comments but do not want them displayed on this Web site, please use one of the other methods available to submit your views.
