BOARD OF GAME
AND INLAND FISHERIES MEETING
4000 WEST BROAD STREET
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
AUGUST 20, 2003,
12:00 NOON
PRESENT:
Dan Hoffler, Chairman, C. Marshall Davison, John
W. Montgomery; DIRECTOR:
William L. Woodfin, Jr.; SENIOR
STAFF: Charlie
Sledd, Ray Davis, Jeff Uerz, Michael Caison
Chairman Hoffler
called the orientation session to order at 12:10 p.m.
He noted for the record that a quorum was not necessary
since no Board business would be conducted and no votes would be
recorded. The meeting
was scheduled for the purpose of conducting an orientation session
for recently appointed members of the Board, C. Marshall Davison,
representing the First Congressional District, and John W.
Montgomery, representing the Third Congressional District.
Topics of discussion included the Department’s
organization, the timing of Board meetings, development of the
agency’s budget and the timeframe for that work, public
participation guidelines and FOIA requirements for members of the
Board, travel reimbursement procedures and appropriate use of
telephone credit cards provided for Board business.
Although the agenda did not provide an
opportunity for public comment, B. J. Ostergren, Hanover,
Virginia, representing Virginia Watchdog, attended the orientation
session, and she received copies of all the written information
that was provided to Mr. Davison and Mr. Montgomery, i.e., the
agenda, an organization chart, a map showing the location of all
department-owned facilities and information on the department’s
revenue sources and expenditures.
Chairman Hoffler adjourned the meeting at
12:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Belle Harding
Secretary to the Director
