Stakeholder Advisory Committee

Robin Weinhold, Private Landowner

A resident of Virginia since 1985, my husband and I chose to put down roots here at the end of our military careers. At the beginning of the growth explosion in Spotsylvania County over twelve years ago, we moved our family to a 112 acre parcel with an abandoned farm house, on a gravel road, in rural Caroline County. Integration into our new community included establishing and leading a 4-H Club for ten years and volunteering at the library while renovating the farm house and developing a small horse boarding/hay farm. We are already seeing many changes in the county as a result of the pressures of growth.

As a biology major in college and a nature lover, I understand the role hunting plays in maintaining the overall balance between man and nature. As a landowner and private citizen, I am concerned about the protection of property owner's rights and finding a way to continue ethical and legal forms of the hunting with hounds tradition. I look forward to participating in a process which will address issues of concern from all sides and offer recommendations based on evaluation of the available facts.
