Stakeholder Advisory Committee

Ben Fulton, Private Landowner

I am a Natural Resources Specialist in a Fish and Wildlife Section for the US Government. A major percentage of my work entails the biology and management of white-tailed deer. I have been an avid hunter for 36 years. My life's work and play is devoted to all wildlife, especially deer and deer hunting. I am a long-time property owner in central Virginia. The property was purchased specifically for hunting and fishing in the 1970's, and is managed as such today. I have hunted deer and rabbits with hounds but now almost exclusively stand hunt for deer. When not hunting I enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, and running.

I strongly believe and support that Virginia can provide quality, safe hunting for all types of hunters. Balancing traditions with the realities of today's demographics is a challenge for all hunters, but especially so for hound hunters. As a Virginia land owner, I am concerned about the protection of property owner's rights. My interest in serving on this committee is to address these issues and come up with suggestions that might improve the general public's image and future of this sport in Virginia.
