Collections that met certain criteria were used to identify and to select confirmed reaches.  These reaches were then attributed with information about collected fish species.  Potential reaches were added from the USEPA reach files.  Stream names were checked using USGS 1:24K DRG topographic maps.  VDGIF collections and Fisheries Division datasets were spatially attributed using a range of methods, however, most were assigned coordinates based on 1:24K USGS topographic maps.  Upstream boundaries of reaches were determined using the VDGIF impediments dataset and USGS 1:24K DRG topographic maps. During this version, the delineation of anadromous reaches from the original USEPA Reach Files (v.3) was transferred to the updated High and Medium resolution USGS NHD polygons. The high resolution data was used where available at time of update.
