Hunting Run Reservoir - Facilities
Hunting Run Park is a new park facility at Hunting Run Reservoir situated on approximately 25 acres. This project is being completed in phases and consists of a rental fishing facility to include check station, restrooms, picnic shelter, ADA Fishing Pier, access roadway, boat ramp and parking facility.
Construction is complete for Phase I. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at the boat ramp which was constructed by Pross Construction Incorporated. The Phase I project provides a gravel access road, parking area, boat ramp, and ADA fishing pier..
Phase II was to be constructed Spring of 2008 (permanent rental facility, public restrooms and picnic pavilion) but was delayed due to budget cuts.
The boat ramp and bank access area around the boat ramp provide fishing four (4) days per week Thursday-Sunday and Holiday Monday's during the season (closed Monday-Wednesday), from 6:00 a.m. to dusk or 8:00 p.m., whichever occurs first.
The County's Department of Parks and Recreation currently provide attendants to monitor activities and sell daily seasonal passes and rent boats and equipment. Permits cost $3-$7 per day or $8-$25 per season depending on residency.
