Attention Trout Anglers! Mill Creek Hatchery Trout Retention Study (Rockbridge County)
VDGIF Fisheries Biologists will be conducting a stocked trout retention study on Mill Creek in Rockbridge County near Goshen, Virginia beginning in October 2008. Small areas within the stocked section of the stream will be electrofished on the 3rd, 7th, and 14th day after a single stocking each in the fall, winter, and spring season.
The purpose of the study is to measure the retention time of hatchery trout in the stream after stocking during different seasons of the year. All trout will be returned to the stream immediately after capture.
