Coursey Springs Hatchery Renovation

The Coursey Springs Hatchery renovation project got underway in late June 2008 and will take approximately 18 months to complete. The new facility will feature 40 circular, trout rearing tanks, all under roof; oxygen enhancement technology to increase fish production; wastewater treatment capability; a new feed storage building; and a spring cover to protect the hatchery water supply.

When fish production resumes, the hatchery will produce 600,000 - 650,000 catchable-size rainbow, brown, and brook trout for stocking in public waters of the Commonwealth.

Follow the progress of the Coursey Springs Hatchery renovation project; photos of the construction progress will be posted on a regular basis. The site will be closed to public visitation during the construction period.
