Richmond Falcon Cam

Third Egg Laid

  • March 25th, 2015

Sometime between 7:00 am and 8:00 am this morning, the female peregrine falcon laid the third egg of her clutch. Now that there are three eggs, the falcons will begin incubation in earnest. The male and the female will share these duties, but female falcons usually do most of the incubating while the male does most of the hunting. With a few exceptions, the usual clutch size for this pair has been four eggs, so it is very possible that a fourth egg may be laid within the next 2-3 days.
