“It's a Boy!”

We had suspected (based on measurements) that the eaglet was a male. This has been confirmed by bloodwork results received by the Wildlife Center of Virginia. The eaglet has received another beak trimming in attempt to restore a natural alignment of the bill. Whether or not this bird's bill will ever grow normally is still to be determined.

As all updates to the eaglet's condition are posted to the Wildlife Center's web site, the best place to find detailed info regarding the eagle's condition is http://www.wildlifecenter.org/news/norfolk_botanical_garden_eagle/updates.php
