Online Boating Course Providers Accepted in Virginia
Internet courses are one of three ways to meet Virginia's Boating Safety Education Requirement. You may also take a classroom course or challenge exam. As of January 1, 2009 the online boating education courses listed here are accepted by VDGIF as meeting the basic requirements to obtain a boating safety education certificate (including PWC operators). These courses meet the national minimum standards established by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and include Virginia specific boating laws and regulations. These are comprehensive courses that take approximately six hours to complete.
Although Virginia allows online courses and testing, some states do not. If you intend to operate a boat or a PWC in another state, check with that state to determine their requirements.
