Leon Turner

Born and raised in Roanoke, VA. Graduated from William Fleming High School. Attended University of Virginia Extension. Married to Jenny D. Turner. We have one son and three daughters, all living in Virginia. Employed by Norfolk Southern Railway for 38 years and retired as Assistant Chief Engineer Industrial and Development.

As a hunter, fisherman and boating enthusiast, I have had an interest in outdoor recreation all my life.

Served on the Board of Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for eight years, being Chairman for two years.

Served on the board of Virginia Wildlife Foundation for six years.

Served as president of Tri-Country Forestry and Wildlife Association.

Founding member of Norfolk and Western Employees Rod and Gun club, which grew to over 600 members.

Member of Trout Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation. Botetourt Chapter of Longbeards and past member of NRA.

Recently presented lifetime Achievement Award from Botetourt Chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation.

Received recognition from Tri-County Forestry and Wildlife Association for involvement in DGIF.
