J. Brent Clarke, III (Chairman)

While growing up in Fairfax County in the 1950's and 60's I had the opportunity to hunt (mostly quail, but also rabbits and dove) with my father and his friends. Later I joined my mother foxhunting. My interest in waterfowl hunting and conservation began in the 1970's, thanks to my father-in-law and continues today. My outdoor interests are primarily hunting and training my retriever. I also enjoy participating in many outdoor activities.

My goal while serving the VDGIF board is to preserve those opportunities for my children, son-in-law and grandsons in the future.

Professionally, my career has been in real estate. In the 1970's I was a property manager for both residential and office properties. Later, I was a commissioned agent, selling and leasing commercial properties. Finally, I worked for a development company and started my own company in 1995.

I am married with two grown daughters, and while my wife and daughters are not hunters, they support both my son-in-law and me in our activities. All participate in an annual game dinner with friends and hunting partners.

It is my pleasure to be working with the devoted members of the Board of Game and Inland Fisheries and the dedicated professionals of the Department.
